Advomatic’s Click-to-Call tool has been nominated for a 2009 Golden Dot Award in the “Best Mobile/Text Message Campaign” category. The Golden Dot Awards, organized by the Institute for Politics, Democracy & the Internet, recognize achievement in online politics. The winners will be announced on Thursday, April 16.
Click2Call automates the “Call your Representative” activism process. The user enters his or her phone and address on the campaign’s page. The system queries the database for the user’s representative and contact information. The tool then uses three-way calling and VoIP to connect the user to Advomatic’s call service to the representative. Next, the user’s phone will ring, and when he or she answers, there is a customized script with instructions and suggestions of what to tell the representative and thanking the user for taking the time to make this call.
Click-to-Call has been featured on FrogLoop, DailyKos and The Huffington Post. Advomatic Partner & COO Aaron Welch first built the Click-to-Call tool for Senator Chris Dodd’s FISA fight in 2007. Since then, a number of advocacy organizations have used the tool to storm the phones of Capitol Hill. These organizations include SEIU, JStreet, Health Care for America NOW!, FireDogLake’s BlueAmerica PAC and many more.
